Buğdaygiller (Poaceae), tohum kabuğu, meyve kabuğu ile bitişik, sapları boğumlu ve ekseriya içi boş, başakçıklar, başak vaziyetinde toplanmış halde, 4000 kadar türe sahip, Poales takımına bağlı bitki familyası.

Buğday, pirinç, çavdar, mısır, darı, yulaf, arpa, bambu gibi bitkiler buğdaygillerdendir.

Taksonomi

Poaceae, ilk olarak 1895'te John Hendley Barnhart tarafından tanımlanmıştır.^[5]^:7 Barnhart, 1753'te Carl Linnaeus'un tanımladığı Poa cinsini ve 1814'te Robert Brown'un ortaya koyduğu Poeae takımını temel almıştı.
