MC5, 1963 yılında Lincoln Park, Michigan'da kurulan Amerikalı hard rock grubu.[4][5] Grubun orijinal üyeleri Wayne Kramer (gitar, vokal), Fred "Sonic" Smith (gitar, vokal), Rob Tyner (vokal), Michael Davis (bas gitar) ve Dennis Thompson'dır (baterist). Grup, Parade dergisi tarafından tüm zamanların en iyi rock gruplarından biri, VH1 tarafından ise en büyük hard rock gruplarından biri olarak gösterilmiştir.[6] MC5'in ilk üç albümü, birçok otorite tarafından rock müziğin temel taşları arasında kabul edilirken, 1969 tarihli "Kick Out the Jams" adlı şarkıları da en çok coverlanan parçalar arasında yer almaktadır.[7]
