Hippopotamus behemoth, Levant'ın Erken Pleistoseninde soyu tükenmiş bir su aygırı türüdür. Fosilleri ve muhtemel atası, H. gorgops, Güney Levant'taki ‘Ubeidiya alanında bulunmuştur ve yaklaşık 1,4 milyon yıl önce Erken Pleistosen'e tarihlenmektedir.
