Xanthorrhoea (/zænθoʊˈriːə/ ), Avustralya'ya özgü yaklaşık 30 çiçekli bitki türünü içeren bir bitki cinsidir. Türler çim ağacı adıyla da bilinir.
Taksonomi
[değiştir | kaynağı değiştir]Xanthorrhoea, Asphodelaceae familyasının monotipik alt familyası Xanthorrhoeoideae ile akrabadır. Xanthorrhoeoideae, Asparagales takımına bağlı tek çeneklilerdir.[2]
Sarı reçinesine atıfta bulunan Xanthorrhoea, Eski Yunancada "sarı akış" anlamına gelir. Smith, 1798'de xanthos ("sarı, altın") ve rhœa ("akan, akış") kelimesinden bu ismi türetmiştir. Acoroides, sinonimi yani daha öncesinde adlandırılan ancak artık sinonime düşen geçersiz ismi ve [3] ) Solander'in Cook'la yaptığı yolculuktan kalma el yazmasında, başlangıçta yayımlanması amaçlanmayan geçici bir tanımıdır.
Çeşitlilik ve dağılım

Avustralya'ya özgü bir cinstir ve Avustralya'nın tüm eyaletlerinde görülmektedir. Bazı türlerin sınırlı menzili vardır, bazıları ise geniş bir alana dağılmıştır. (2014 itibarıyla) Dünya Seçilmiş Bitki Aileleri Kontrol Listesine göre aşağıdaki türler kabul edilmektedir:
